Alice Elizabeth Basicker, 92 of Gaston, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Big Bend Hospice in Tallahassee, Florida.

Alice was born on May 31, 1925 in Madison County, Indiana to the late Raymond and Mable (Wasson) Hayden. Alice married Robert Basicker on August 21, 1943 and was a homemaker. Alice always put God first in her life. She was a member of the Gaston Church of the Nazarene and previous member of the Gaston Wesleyan Church. She also held church services and sang at area nursing homes.

Alice is survived by her two children, Sheila Shepard (husband John) of Tallahassee, FL and John Basicker (wife Diana) of Gaston; a sister, Faustine King (husband Ronald) of Yorktown; four grandchildren, Angie Greer (husband Richie) of Tallahassee, FL, Amy Pakidis (husband Brian) of Virginia Beach, VA, Kristin Basicker of Trenton, OH, and Ashley Basicker of Gaston; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Alice was preceded in death by her Loving husband, Robert Basicker, in 1994; four brothers, Arnold, Harold, Everet, and Earl Hayden; and a sister, Helen Rich.

A funeral service to celebrate Alice's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 11, 2018 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Robert Curry will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday, May 10, 2018 and also one hour prior to her funeral service on Friday.
