Carole Young, 90, of Yorktown, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Wednesday morning, August 8, 2018 at Yorktown Manor.

Carole was born March 9, 1928 in Frankfort, Indiana to the late Charles and May (Galvin) Teegarden. She was a 1948 graduate of Colfax High School South of Frankfort. She was a homemaker and had worked for Denny's Dinner. Carole was a member of the Yorktown United Methodist Church where she enjoyed volunteering and singing in the choir. She was also a volunteer at the Yorktown public library and a member of a Euchre Club.

Carole is survived by her loving husband of nearly 70 years, Donald Young of Yorktown; two sons, Nicholas Young of Naples, FL and Kurt Young of Yorktown; two granddaughters, Caitlin Young of Lafayette and Ciara Young of Naples, FL; and several cousins and extended family in the Frankfort area.

Carole was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Stanley.

A funeral service to celebrate Carole's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown, IN. Pastor Peter Curts will officiate. Cremation will follow the service with burial at Bunnel Cemetery in Frankfort, Indiana at a later date.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, at Gant Funeral Homes, Yorktown Chapel.
