Cynthia Kay Gillum, 62, of Muncie, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Cindy was born on May 15, 1961, in Muncie, Indiana. She was a member of the class of 1979 at Yorktown High School. She proudly served her country in the United States Navy for 7 years. Cindy worked as a pharmacy technician at Access to Care and had also worked in patient access at Community Hospital. She attended CommUNITY Church in Muncie. Cindy enjoyed Atlanta Braves baseball, reading, baking, and spending time with her family.

Cindy is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Jeffrey Gillum; Brother, Mike Gibson (Stephannee); ten nieces and nephews, Tanya Dellinger (Jeremy), Greg Studebaker (Josh), Codi May Gibson, Gracee Gibson, Drew Gibson, Brad Gillum (Ty), Brandie Oliver (Justin), John Gillum (Tasha), Carla Anthony (Demetrius), and Mendy Easterly; 15 great nieces and nephews, Kayla Parker (Peyton), Kassidy Dellinger, Ellisyn Gillum, Isaac Gillum, Kade Oliver, Kaylee Oliver, Brayden Oliver, Rylan Oliver, Donya Anthony, Demetrius Anthony Jr., Candyce Anthony, Beau Anthony, Alexis Anthony, Indiana Gillum, and Van Gillum; great-great-neice, Haivyn Parker; three sisters-in-law, Julie Studebaker Vance, Diane Gillum, and Anita Bales; and her beloved dog, Lacey.

Cindy was preceded in death by her father, Daniel Studebaker; mother, Veda Gibson; stepfather, James Gibson Jr.; two brothers, Neil and Mark Studebaker; nephew, Jesse Bales; and mother-in-law, Geraldine Gillum.

A funeral service to celebrate Cindy's life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at Gant Funeral homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Pastor Darrell Nichols and Pastor Jason Adams will officiate. Burial will follow in Beech Grove Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, August 7, 2023, and also one hour prior to her funeral on Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
