David Young, 89, of Muncie, passed away on Sunday, August 28, 2022.

David was born on September 19, 1932, in Greensburg, Indiana to the late Robert and Opal Young. He was a 1950 graduate of Greensburg High School. David worked for Marsh Supermarkets in multiple positions for 50 years and retired in Muncie at the age of 65. Since retiring, David has enjoyed traveling the world over, but was always most happy being at home working on some project in the yard or just spending time with family. David had a kind generous spirit and always brightened the room with his smile and sense of humor. He had been an active and devoted member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for 58 years.

David is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ann Young; four sons, Ricke Young and family of Fishers, Tim Young of Muncie, Bob Young and family of Anderson, and Cary Young and family of Carmel; a brother, Dan Young; as well as 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, September 2, 2022, at St. Mary's Church, 2100 W. Jackson St. in Muncie. Fr. Coady Owens will officiate. Burial will be in Hawk Cemetery with a luncheon to follow in Noll Hall next to St. Mary's Church.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Friday at St. Mary's Church.
