Jane B. Clark, 78, of Gaston, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie following a lengthy illness.

Jane was born on May 29, 1939 in Henry County, Kentucky to the late Roy Batts and Beatrice Mickens. She had worked at Imperial Kitchens and Indiana Glass Factory. She later worked for senior services.  Jane attended Gaston Community Church. She had been an officer of the Ladies Auxillary of the American Legion and was a member of the Gaston Park Board. She was very active in the community of Gaston and enjoyed socializing and keeping up on current events in the community.

Jane is survived by her four children, Zaneta Rue Scott of Indianapolis, Darrin Scott (wife Sherry) of Greenfield, Kim Long (husband Jim) of Indianapolis, and Shamus Clark (wife Lisa) of Anderson; four brothers, DeWayne Batts (wife Norma) of Madison, Jimmy Batts of Georgia, Robert Batts (wife Lynn) of Rome, GA, and Charlie Batts; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Jane was preceded in death by her sister, Inez Schneider; brother Leon Batts; two grandchildren; and one niece.

A funeral service to celebrate Jane's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 10:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. on Saturday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
