Joseph D. McCord, 56, of Muncie, formerly of Gaston, passed away unexpectedly on Monday morning, August 15, 2022, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Joe was born on January 27, 1966, in Muncie. He was a 1985 graduate of Muncie Central High School. Joe was co-owner of C&J Restorations. He enjoyed collecting guns, home improvement, and flipping houses.

Joe is survived by his partner through life, Carrie Jones; a sister, Wendy Moore (Larry); three brothers, Donny McCord (Rachel), Brad McCord (Heather), and Jerry McCord (Alex) two bonus children, Buddie Jones and Davey Jones (Selina); eight bonus grandchildren; four bonus great-grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Rickey D. and Toni Ann McCord; four brothers, Rick D. McCord Jr., Tony A. McCord, James R. McCord, and Todd L. McCord;

A funeral service to celebrate Joe's life will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 4:00pm until 8:00 pm on Monday, August 22, 2022, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral on Tuesday at the funeral home.
