Julia F. Vold, 75, of Muncie, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2023, at her home.

Julia was born on May 8, 1947, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Hershel and Dorothy Simpson. She was a 1965 graduate of Yorktown High School where she served and remained active as class treasurer. Julia retired from Marsh Supermarkets in 2001 after 34 years in the buyers and accounting departments. After retirement she worked as Utility Clerk for Yorktown for another 12 years. Julia was a member of the Yorktown American Legion Auxiliary and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Julia is survived by her husband of 26 years, Dale Vold; five children, Staci Neal, Amy Grubbs (husband Mike), Amy Vold, Ben Vold of Colorado, and Adam Vold (wife Keely) of Colorado; six grandchildren, Allysan Taylor (husband Kyle), Kyle Luczak, Chelsie Bilby (husband Austin), Gavin Grubbs, Jake Vold, and Caleb Vold; six great-grandchildren, Keegan, Aria, Gracelynn, Memphis, Julianna, and Gabriella; nephew, Rocky Simpson; and a bunch of "favorite" cousins.

Julia was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Simpson.

A funeral service to celebrate Julia's life will be held at 3:00 pm Tuesday, February 28, 2023, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Pastor Randy Davis will officiate. The Yorktown American Legion will provide a meal following the service.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm on Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
