Mark Wayne Zacharias, 53, of Muncie, passed away on December 27, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.

Mark was born on June 18, 1968, in Connersville, Indiana. He was a 1986 graduate of Morton Memorial High School and attended Ball State University. He was a United States Army Veteran. Mark worked for S&H Trucking as a dump truck driver. He had also been a long-time manager at Wendy's and worked weekends at Munsee Lanes. Mark enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, football, and golf. Mark loved all children and especially cherished the time spent with his children.

Mark is survived by his wife, Ginger (Bertram) Zacharias; three children, Charles Lacy (Stephanie), Kaylee Zacharias (Danny), and Sarah Zacharias; Mother, Mary Spalding; four sisters, Marilyn Zacharias, Sheila Searcy (Phil), Sherry Zacharias, and Lisa Moss (Chuck); mother-in-law, Shirley Cannady (Gene); father-in-law, Erbie Bertram (Tina); two sisters-in-law, Kelli Tobin and Lee Anne Bertram (Meagon); three brothers-in-law, Eric Bertram (Christine), Rick Bertram, and Daniel Bertram; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Norman Wayne Zacharias; maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Alma Vierling; paternal grandmother, Ruth Zacharias; and stepfather, Cecil Spalding.

A funeral service to celebrate Mark's life will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, January 3, 2022, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery in Gaston.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm Monday, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.
