Marsha Jo Abbott, 67, of Gaston, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.

Marsha was born April 14, 1950 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Willard Leroy and Esther Viola (Shell) Favors. She graduated from Southside High School in 1968 and went on to marry Vernon Abbott on April 27, 1968. Marsha was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, crafts, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Marsha attended Gaston Community Church.

Marsha is survived by her husband of 49 years, Vernon Abbott; four children, Bryan Abbott (fiancé Angelica) of Gaston, Angie Shaw (partner David Jones) of Gaston, Jeramy Abbott (wife Sandra) of Alexandria, and Leslie Joseph (husband Thomas) of Upland; a brother, Bruce Favors (wife Donna) of Greenville, SC; 12 grandchildren, Brianna, Samantha, and Coltyn Abbott, Abby Vondershmitt, Dustin and Ashley Shaw, Brittney Goodwin, Laura Patz, Crystal Backous, Katherine Barnes, Chelsey Semilla, and Dylan Joseph; 23 great-grandchildren; special friend, Kay Colsten; and her three dogs, Casper, Cinnamon, and Sophie.

Marsha was preceded in death by her parents and a special friend, Cindy Keele.

A funeral service to celebrate Marsha's life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Pastor Michael Osborne will officiate. Burial will follow in Thompson Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
