Michael R. Lucas, 65, of Gaston, passed away on Wednesday, September 8, 2021, at the Lynd House in Muncie.

Michael was born on December 23, 1955, in Muncie to the late Carl F. and Betty J. Lucas. He graduated from Wes-Del High School and went on to serve in the United States Army. Michael was a carpenter and had also worked at the Gaston Lumber Company. He was a member of the Gaston United Methodist Church. Michael enjoyed sports and old cars.

Michael is survived by his daughter, Heather Morton and her husband Todd.

A memorial service to celebrate Michael's life will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, September 25, 2021, at the Gaston United Methodist Church, 105 Main St. in Gaston. Pastor John Long will officiate. Burial of Michael's ashes will be in the Marion National VA Cemetery at a later date.

Friends and family may gather to share a remember from 12:00 pm until 1:00 PM Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Gaston United Methodist Church.
