Mont Stanley, 51, of Gaston, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Mont was born September 20, 1966 in Rushville, Indiana to the late Tom and Edna Stanley. He spent most of his life in the Gaston. Mont worked in asphalt paving daily until becoming wheelchair bound. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Gaston as well as the Urban Lights Church in Muncie. He will be dearly missed and never forgotten.

Mont leaves behind two sons, Joshua and Christopher Stanley of Muncie; three daughters, Amy Stanley of Muncie, Heather Ann Stanley, and Amber Vance of Gaston; three brothers, George Stanley (wife Julie) of Gaston, Ted Stanley (wife Vickie) of Muncie, and Tom Stanley of Gaston; a sister, Betsy Stanley of Gaston; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Mont was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bob Stanley, Claude Johnson, Eddie Pennington, and Bobby "Joe" Stanley; and a sister, Jessie Hankins.

A funeral service to celebrate Mont's life will be held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, July 17, 2018, at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston, Indiana. Pastor Joe Carpenter will officiate. Burial will follow in Jones Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, July 16, 2018 and also one hour prior to the funeral service Tuesday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.

Memorial contributions may be given to aid in final expenses in care of George Stanley. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home or can be mailed to Gant Funeral Homes, 2215 S. Broadway St., Yorktown, IN 47396.
