Scott E. Terry, 56, of Yorktown, passed away unexpectedly from heart failure on Friday, June 17, 2022, at the home of his parents in Yorktown.

Scott was born on July 22, 1965, in Muncie, to Larry and Verna Sue Terry. Scott was a 1984 graduate of Yorktown High School. Scott was a master mechanic. He worked for Marsh for over 20 years and was currently employed at Tractor Supply. Scott also retired from the Yorktown Fire Department. He was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church. He was an avid gun and car enthusiast.

Scott is survived by two sons, Evan Terry and Aaron Terry (Jessica Pickett); his parents Larry and Verna Sue Terry; three siblings, Tony Terry (wife Debbie), Kristy Atkinson, and Steve Terry (wife Susan); two nephews, Joshua Atkinson (Jaime Spearman) and Alex Gamber (Alexis Elam); cousin and best buddy, Rob Wood (wife Marie); friend, Melissa; and many extended family members.

Scott was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Church; brother, Sean Terry; aunt, Connie Swingley; uncle, Mike Noble; and grandparents, George and verna B. Noble.

A funeral service to celebrate Scott's life will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel, 2215 S. Broadway St. in Yorktown. Pastor Chris Hood will officiate. Cremation will follow services.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Wednesday at Gant Funeral Homes – Yorktown Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice in memory of Scott.
