Tina Marie Hammitt, 60, of Gaston, passed away on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at Community Hospital in Anderson following a long and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

Tina was born March 6, 1958 in Muncie, Indiana to the late Jerry and Wanda (Thornbury) Miller. Tina attended Delta High School and had worked for Warner Gear, Elsa, and Red Gold Factories. She was a member of the Fairmont United Methodist Church and the Gaston American Legion Lady's Auxiliary. Tina enjoyed fellowship and never met a stranger. Her greatest joy in life was her family.

Tina is survived by her loving husband of nearly 16 years, Robert Hammitt; a daughter, Mandi Curts (husband Josh) of Muncie; a step-son, Damon Hammitt (wife Stephanie) of Marion; great-nephew she helped raise, Victor Walker of Fairmont; four siblings, Debbie Haskins of Gaston, Chuck Miller (wife Tammy) of Parker City; Terry Miller (wife Cece) of Gaston, and Sharon Miller of Muncie; her father and mother-in-law, Jerry and Janet Vardaman of Marion; sister-in-law, Barb Anderson (husband Ron) of Jonesboro; a special niece, Tiffany Miller of Anderson; her dog Nexus; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral service to celebrate Tina's life will be held at 6:00 P.M. Monday, November 26, 2018 at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St., Gaston, IN 47342. Cremation will follow services.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 2:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. Monday at Gant Funeral Homes, Gaston Chapel.
