William R. "Willie" Dickerson, 52, of Muncie, passed away at his home on Sunday, September 5, 1921.

Willie was born on April 20, 1969, in Muncie to William C. and Winnifred Dickerson. He graduated from Wes-Del High School and went on to earn his bachelor's degree in construction management from Ball State University. Willie served in the United States Army National Guard where he participated in Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Willie worked for E&B Paving and had also worked as a truck driver. He was a member of the Local 1112 Union. Willie loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Willie is survived by his mother, Winnifred Dickerson-Oswalt (husband Philip), sister, Sheryl Maupin (husband Andrew); brother, Jerry Dickerson; and two nephews, Reese Dickerson and Gabriel Maupin.

Willie was preceded in death by his father, William C. Dickerson.

A memorial service to celebrate Willie's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 18, 2021, at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel, 109 W. Elm St. in Gaston.

Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 10:00 am until 11:00 am Saturday at Gant Funeral Homes – Gaston Chapel.
